What is a Cost of Future Care Assessment (COFC)?
A COFC evaluates the future medical, rehabilitation and support needs of someone who has suffered a significant injury or illness.

A Cost of Future Care Assessment helps to determine the financial resources required for future care and is conducted by occupational therapists or life care planners.
The COFC evaluation is typically completed in the individual’s home, care-home or other place of residence and typically takes 3-5 hours to complete the in-person assessment. Virtual assessments can also be completed, however, are determined on a case-by-case basis.
