Ommi Health offers in-depth assessments for lawyers, employers and insurers, conducted by qualified occupational therapists. We assess individuals with catastrophic and non-catastrophic health, functional and quality of life changes. Our team specializes in evaluating physical, mental health and cognitive impairments, providing thorough assessments and reporting.
Simone Szarkiewicz

Simone Szarkiewicz is the owner and director of Ommi Health. She is a registered occupational therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) with over 15 years of experience as an occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistant. She completed her education and training in Sydney Australia and has called Vancouver home for the past 11 years. For the past 8 years she has dedicated her practice to various areas of medical malpractice, motor vehicle collisions, pedestrian accidents, motorcycle accidents, sexual abuse, family and estate law. She has experience in many areas of physical health, mental health and brain injury which equip her with the skills to handle the most complex cases. She has consulted for larger IME firms and opened Ommi Health as she wanted to provide a more direct local service to her clients.
She is known for her attention to detail and taking a closer look on complex cases. She holds advanced certifications in Cost of Future Care/Life Care Planning and has completed Functional Capacity Evaluation and, Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation training.
She is known for approachability, customized approach, empathy, and ability to look at the bigger picture in complex cases to include psychological, physical and brain injury. She feels strongly about providing in depth reports that capture the bigger picture for complex cases through empathy, clarity and care. She uses a customized approach to each case.
Simone has assessed hundreds of individuals in the areas above and has been accepted as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of British Columbia in the areas of occupational therapy, cost of future care/life care planning and functional assessment.
Nicole Sukkan

Nicole Sukkan brings over 25 years of experience in client/customer service management, operations management, and business development. Since 2007, she has been actively involved in the third-party assessment industry, cultivating strong relationships with clients and consultants and successfully merging the medical/legal and insurance sectors.
Nicole is known for her welcoming personality, superior level of customer service, unwavering dedication and integrity. Her industry experience, technical knowledge, and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable asset. She approaches her work with a proactive and professional mindset, paying close attention to detail to ensure timely handling of client requests and meeting deadlines.
Carly Lightstone

Carly Lightstone is a duly qualified and registered occupational therapist in good standing with The College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia and her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Western Ontario. With over 16 years of experience as a registered occupational therapist, Carly specializes in assessing and treating adults with complex physical, emotional, and cognitive injuries. Her career spans public acute care and private community rehabilitation sectors in Ontario and British Columbia, providing a comprehensive perspective on recovery. Ms. Lightstone’s expertise includes working with adults dealing with neurological disorders, vascular conditions, chronic diseases, cognitive impairments, and complex medical and psychosocial issues. Beyond her clinical work, Ms. Lightstone has contributed to research projects in psychological adjustment to orthopedic procedures, lectured nationally, and consulted on the CAOT private practice network committee. With over a decade of experience in mentoring and managing occupational therapists, Ms. Lightstone is renowned for her ability to assess individuals with complex injuries, effectively communicate findings, and provide insightful recommendations.
Colleen Kuhlmann

Colleen Kuhlmann is a duly qualified and registered occupational therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT). She obtained a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology from Acadia University followed by a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University. With 12 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, initially in Ontario and currently in British Columbia, Ms. Kuhlmann holds advanced training as a functional capacity evaluator through OccuPro. She possesses extensive experience in assessing and treating individuals with complex physical, cognitive, and psychological injuries across various healthcare settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, and community care, in both the public and private sectors. Ms. Kuhlmann’s clinical expertise spans neurological conditions, traumatic brain injury, stroke, orthopedic conditions, burn injuries, complex wheelchair seating, chronic pain, and psychological conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety. She has presented at the national CAOT Conference and offered consultation on the CAOT Private Practice Business Network. Ms. Kuhlmann has worked with ICBC, WorkSafe BC, and extended healthcare providers, known for her individualized approach to assessment and treatment, assisting individuals in overcoming complex barriers to return to work following injury.
